Kihei’s strip malls all are located on S. Kihei Rd. with the exception of the Pi’ilani Shopping Center at Pipoa and Pi’ilani Hwy. These small shopping centers are mainly places for local services or variety and local specialty shops, convenience and discount stores and also quick, take-out and restaurant meals.  From north to south, these shopping centers are:

  • Longs Center (1215 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Azeka Place I (makai, 1280 S. Kihei Rd.) and Azeka Place II (mauka)
  • Lipoa Shopping Center (E. Lipoa St. near S. Kihei)
  • Kukui Mall (1819 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Foodland-Kihei Town Center (1881 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Kihei KalamaVillage (1941 S. Kihei Rd., across from Kalama Park)
  • Dolphin Plaza (2395 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Rainbow Mall (2439 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Kama’ole Beach Shopping Center (2463 S. Kihei Rd.)
  • Kai Nani Village (2511 S. Kihei Rd.)

In addition to chain stores (Kama’ole Beach Center: Honolua Surf Co.; Long’s Center: T-Shirt Factory; Pi’ilani Shopping Center: Hilo Hattie), the few shops in Kihei to browse in mainly are located in Azeka Place I and II and Kalama Village.

  • Azeka Place I: Island Memories, Collectibles, Rainbow Connection, Tropical Tantrum, and Crazy Shirts
  • Azeka Place II: Elephant Walk, Maui’s Best, The Art of Hula, In’s Eelskin and Gifts, and La Pre Shells

Kihei Kalama Village is a collection of stalls under one roof that sell products made by local craftspeople from hand-painted T-shirts and coconut husks to jewelry, pottery, woodcarvings and more. At the far end, you’ll find Pua's Lei Stand that sells beautiful wiliwili and other lei, hula implements, Hawaiian angels made from fibers and fragrant, high quality Maui herbal soaps spreading the delicious scent of pikake, guavaberry, plumeria and other plants around the shopping area.

From north to south, the eateries that should take care of three meals and refreshments while you’re out shopping and at other times include:
